JOB BOARD RESOURCE

KANSASWORKS is the state's public workforce assistance system and offers a comprehensive job board. Search for available jobs within a designated radius of Smith County to see what opportunities are waiting for you. 

MAKE MY MOVE

REMOTE WORKING INCENTIVE

Smith County is currently offering up to $5,750 in cash and relocation incentives for remote workers. High-speed internet and a lower cost of living make for a perfect pair. If you can work from anywhere, why not choose Smith County? 

RURAL OPPORTUNITY ZONE

STUDENT LOAN REPAYMENT

The Kansas Rural Opportunity Zones, Student Loan Repayment program provides up to $15,000 in Student Loan Repayment Assistance over a 5 year period. The city of Smith Center is proud to partner with the state to bring this incentive to our residents.

KS INCOME TAX CREDIT

RELOCATION INCENTIVE

Receive a 100% Personal State Income Tax Credit as a new resident of Kansas. As an ROZ Community, residents relocating to Smith County are eligible for this program and may claim this credit for up to five consecutive years following the establishment of their domicile.

LOCAL CHAMBER

CONNECTION RESOURCE

Sometimes all you need is a connection. The Smith Center Chamber of Commerce is a great place to start. From community events to local job openings connect with the Chamber. If nothing else, they should be able to point you in the right direction to other local resources and Economic Dev. initiatives.

BUSINESS EXPANSION & DEV.

REVOLOVING LOAN FUND

The Business Expansion & Dev. Revolving Loan Fund allows the SCED to offer business loans to expand an existing business, start a new business, purchase an existing business, or relocate a business to Smith Center. Payments are made with 0% interest for the first two years and 5% for the remainder of the loan. 

JUMP START PROGRAM

NEW BUSINESS GRANT

The Jump Start grant is a conditional grant to assist new or relocating businesses during the first 24 months of operations. This grant may be used to subsidize rent, utilities, marketing, or other expenses. Businesses much remain inside the city limits of Smith Center to qualify.

Nex-Gen. Round up

STUDENT INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

Nex-Gen. Round Up for Youth's mission is to educate students about local career opportunities by providing and supporting programs in career development, entrepreneurship, and internship to help foster a sense of community and encourage youth to remain or return home to prosper.
